Bruker ICON-1T

The ICON-1T is a low field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment that allows obtaining magnetic resonance images in vivo and ex vivo.

In vivo experiments are limited in rats to approximately 350 grams.

The ICON system is a high-performance compact MRI system that allows the scientist without experience in resonance imaging to access the potential of this technique and generate quantitative imaging results to answer biological questions in vivo.

MRI is a technique commonly used in clinical settings. As such, the results obtained with the ICON in rat and mouse are completely scalable and translatable to man as many clinical applications, sequences and MRI-Clinical approaches can be performed at the ICON.

The ICON operates at a field strength of 1 Tesla. It is the most suitable field and frequency for imaging with gadolinium-based contrast agents, due to the nature of the relaxivity curves of these agents.
