STEREOLOGY SYSTEM (Visiopharm Olympus)
The Olympus Bx61 Newcast microscope is mainly dedicated to the acquisition and analysis of images for the stereological study of samples. The system is controlled by Visiopharm software that has a Newcast module for stereological analysis with estimation of:
-Number of cells and structures: through the optical dissector.
-Lengths of structures and surface contours: by estimating line segments and lines.
- Areas: through the point estimator (using the Cavalieri principle), line segments, counting frames, cycloids and lines.
-Volumes (total, fractions and local): by means of the point estimator (using the Cavalieri principle), of segments of lines and lines.
