Eighteen Research Assistance Centers receive ISO 9001:2015 quality certificates

09/02/2024

Eighteen Research Assistance Centers (CAI) have received this February 9, in a ceremony held in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, their ISO 9001:2015 quality certificates, which accredit the quality of their processes. The rector Joaquín Goyache highlighted the recognition that obtaining these certificates makes of the work of these centers, "fundamental" not only for the university to develop its research work, but also to "enhance it". Goyache recalled that the accreditations to the standard also mean a "lifelong commitment" that these centers acquire with the quality and excellence of their processes.

In the event - in which together with the rector were the vice-rectors for Quality, Miguel Ángel Sastre, and for Research and Transfer, Lucía de Juan, with the dean of Chemistry, Mayte Villalba, acting as hostess - participated Álvaro Rodríguez, director of Business Assurance of SGS, the auditing company that has "examined" the eighteen centers, who emphasized that the adaptation to this international management quality standard demonstrates the "daily search for excellence" of both the evaluated centers and the university itself as a whole. In addition, the certification is a "guarantee of the reliability and accuracy" of their work and results.

The CAI of Behavioral Analysis Techniques, the CAI of Chemical Techniques, the Ultrafast Lasers, Spectroscopy and Correlation, X-Ray Diffraction, Magnetic Resonance and Mass Spectrometry units have obtained quality certificates; from the CAI of Physical Techniques, the Magnetometry and Cryogenics unit; from the CAI of Earth Sciences and Archaeometry, the Geochronology, Geological Techniques and Archaeometry and Archaeological Analysis units; from the CAI of Biological Techniques, the Genomics, Proteomics and Cytometry and Fluorescence Microscopy units; the ICTS (Singular Scientific-Technological Facility) of Complutense Bioimaging and the National Electron Microscopy Center, and the Research Support Workshops, Animal Facility and Audiovisual and Digital Contents platforms.
