The Center for Ultrafast Lasers (CLUR) produces the first high harmonics in the extreme ultraviolet in the attosecond time scale

CLUR has made the first experiments to generate a radiation beam in the extreme ultraviolet (XUV) as an attosecond train of pulses (1 attosecond is 10-18 seconds) using the high harmonic generation (HHG) technique. The use of this XUV radiation beam will allow us to reach the attosecond time scale in pump-probe experiments in the photoionization of atoms and small molecules (RABBITT experiments).
