The Laboratory for Scientific Advanced Instrumentation (Laboratorio de Instrumentación Científica Avanzada, LICA) has been equipped with scientific tools for the characterization of detectors and optical and mechanical components of scientific instrumentation. This laboratory has gained experience in the design, assembly and calibration of astronomical instrumentation. The facilities are located at the Dept. Física de la Tierra y Astrofísica (Facultad CC. Físicas) since 2010. The equipment has been acquired with funds provided by Campus Moncloa Campus de Excelencia Internacional (UCM-UPM) Project (Actuación E11, clúster Cambio Global y Nuevas Energías), spanish MINECO and Comunidad de Madrid. Prof. A. Gil de Paz is the coordinator for this facility.
