Advanced Scientific Instrumentation Unit

The Laboratory for Scientific Advanced Instrumentation (Laboratorio de Instrumentación Científica Avanzada, LICA) is a Core Facility at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid that is specialized in the characterization of detectors, optical and mechanical components of scientific instrumentation and system-level integration and testing of astronomical instruments. The facilities are located at the Department of Earth Sciences and Astrophysics (Physics Faculty) since 2010. The equipment for this Core Facility has been acquired with funds provided by Campus Moncloa Campus de Excelencia Internacional (UCM-UPM) Project (Actuación E11, clúster Cambio Global y Nuevas Energías), spanish MINECO/MCIN and Comunidad de Madrid. Prof. A. Gil de Paz is the coordinator for this facility.
