The thermal demagnetizer consists of a heating chamber (non-inductor oven) and a cooling chamber installed inside a powerful magnetic shield. The gradual deimanation of the samples is achieved by heating-cooling steps at progressively higher temperatures. The equipment allows the simultaneous thermal deimanation of a large number of paleomagnetic samples (80 cylindrical samples of 2.5 cm in height x 2.5 cm in diameter).
