Preclinical MRI/PET imaging Service

Reference: MRI/PET
Imaging technique for obtaining morphological and functional information in vivo in a minimally invasive way, thus ensuring ethics in preclinical research and reducing the use of animals. Both magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography are acquired simultaneously, thus reducing the time animals are exposed to anaesthesia.

SAMPLES ANALYSED
The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique allows obtaining morphological images of soft tissues with high resolution and high contrast. Positron emission tomography (PET), on the other hand, allows highly sensitive functional imaging studies to be carried out, allowing metabolic tissue information to be obtained with the glucose analogue radiotracer 18F-FDG, dopamine receptors with the tracer 18F-DOPA, metabolism or bone growth with 18F-FNa, etc. Both techniques are applied in both rat and mouse and in animal models of similar volume.

PRESERVATION CONDITIONS OF SAMPLES AVAILABLE AT BIOIMAC
Room temperature. Desiccator. Refrigerator 0ºC to 8ºC. Freezer - 20ºC. Ultra freezer -80ºC.
