Genomics Unit
The main objective of the Genomics Unit of the Complutense University of Madrid is the promotion of scientific research and technological development in the area of Genomics.
The Unit offers researchers different Genomics services oriented to the description of genes, genomes, metagenomes, and variations thereof, as well as to gene expression analysis, at the level of individual genes or of the complete genome. The services are performed by highly qualified personnel, with extensive experience in the area, and with the use of high performance equipment. Among these services we can highlight those of Sanger DNA sequencing, analysis of DNA fragments, massive DNA sequencing for different applications, single cell analysis, quantitative real-time PCR assays, and those of global gene expression analysis with DNA microarrays.
The Unit provides technical and analytical advice in these services, also participating in the development and development of new methodologies that are being developed in this field. This Unit is supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Community of Madrid, and is part of the Network of Laboratories of the Community of Madrid (REDLAB), with the identification RLAB-044. The Genomics Unit has participated in the PROMPT and InGEMICS Biomedicine programs, and the REACT-Anticipa UCM project, funded by the Community of Madrid..
The Unit participates in various teaching activities such as seminars, visits to the Unit, and specialized training courses.
The Unit has certification of follow-up of the ISO 9001: 2015 Standard.
