Ion Chromatography (IC)

Ion chromatography is a fast, sensitive and accurate method for the analysis of soluble anions and cations in aqueous samples. Ion chromatography is a special type of chromatography in which an ion separation process takes place through ion exchange separation between the mobile phase and stationary phase (column). The ions are reversibly held in the column by their different charge properties. As ions separate on the column, they are detected by a conductivity detector and recorded on a chromatogram that plots the eluted ion signal intensity versus time.
