Research Assistance Centres

Geological Techniques Unit

The Geological Techniques Unit is an institutional proposal and it is intended to provide support to the research activity of the UCM in the area of Earth Sciences, facilitating the development of research programs in which their teachers participate and improve the benefits and profitability of investments in scientific equipment, in accordance with the purposes contemplated in the General Regulations of the Research Assistance Centers of the Complutense University of Madrid, approved by the Governing Board of March 15, 1994 and in what is contemplated in its Statutes.

As in all fields of Science, research in Geology has diversified in recent times. On the other hand, the need to focus on scientific problems in a more interdisciplinary way is becoming increasingly evident and this, together with the requirement of having scientific equipment and adequate technologies managed efficiently, is the reason why the Faculty has organized the set of infrastructures in a geological research assistance center integrated in the set of Research Assistance Centers of the Complutense University.

The Unit is structured in two laboratories:

Geological Materials and Geotechnics Laboratory
Geochemical and Environmental Analysis Laboratory
