The Magnetometry and Cryogenics Unit offers a Magnetic Property Measurement System (MPMS-XL) and a Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS), two Quantum Design Company products.

The MPMS-XL equipment is a SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) magnetometer with ~10-7 emu sensitivity in the temperature range 2-400 K and with a 5 Tesla magnet. Furthermore, it has the ac susceptibility option as well as the oven option that allows measurements from 300 K up to 800 K.

On the other hand, the PPMS is a versatile equipment that allows to carry out magnetic (dc and ac magnetization), thermal and electric measurements in the temperature range of 2-400 K with magnetic fields up to ±9 Tesla.

The unit also provides liquid nitrogen service.

HIGH PRESSURE LAB
