Live animal requirements in experimentation

Reference: Animales/Animals
In accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 53/2013, of February 1, establishing the basic rules applicable to the protection of animals used in experimentation and other scientific purposes, including teaching, in order to perform the various services offered at BioImaC, applicants will be required to provide the following documentation:

# SERVICE APPLICATION duly completed and signed.

# PROEX stating the approval that the imaging procedure to be developed is authorized to be performed at BIOIMAC or resolution of the competent autonomous community stating such approval.

# STABLING AUTHORIZATION: for animals for which stabling is necessary, it will also be required that the PROEX or resolution of the Autonomous Community is authorized in BioImaC in addition to the health certificate and the transfer document:

* In the case of animals sent directly to BIOIMAC from a supplier company of research animals, the health certificate provided by that company will be valid.

* In the case of animals bred / housed in the CAI Animalarium of the UCM, a certificate will not be necessary since the endorsement of the responsible veterinarian is assumed; only a transfer notification will be required.

* In the case of animals bred / housed in an animal facility other than the UCM Animal Facility, it will be necessary to submit both the most recent health certificate available, as well as the transfer document (BIOIMAC provides a model of such document if you do not have one).
